The planning and groundbreaking for this project started back in 2022. Stor-It owned the land for over 20 years and had a few different layouts but was never able to get it off the ground. There were a few obstacles, like a hillside study and unique firewall items to contend with, but with the help of the Forge team and the ability to fully communicate and work together, they were able to push through to the completion of another amazing Stor-It facility for the local community.
This facility is unique in that it incorporates everything Stor-It has found to work well at its other locations and brings it together here. This location has normal drive-up storage units, climate-controlled units, indoor storage, large commercial units, commercial flex space, oversized, angled covered parking, and an RV wash bay with a dump station and water fill-up.
Stor-It connected with Hamish and Hayden a few years before they created Forge. They were literally the “boots on the ground” building storage facilities. Back in 1999-2001 they were installing metal on Stor-It’s Parkcenter location. This was the impetus for Hamish and Hayden forming Forge Building Company. Since then, Stor-It and Forge have been linked for over 25 years.
“When I began working for Stor-It nearly 19 years ago and began helping with the development of facilities, one of the first things I was told is that you have to meet our contractors Hamish and Hayden. From the moment I met these guys, I knew everything was going to be amazing,” stated C.W. Hurless, Chief Development Officer for Stor-It Self Storage. “We don’t just have a great business relationship, but I feel they are some of the best friends I have.”

Currently, Stor-It is scheduled out through 2034 with projects ranging from new facilities to expansions on existing sites…all to be built by Forge.
